The 5G Automotive Association (5GAA) and the IOWN Global Forum have signed a Letter of Intent to establish a framework for closer collaboration on next-generation communication technologies and their application to connected mobility.

Signed in September 2026, the agreement marks an important step towards strengthening cooperation between the two organisations as the automotive and communication industries continue to advance connectivity solutions for future mobility services.

Under the Letter of Intent, 5GAA and IOWN Global Forum intend to cooperate in several strategic areas, including:

  • Mobile Edge Computing use cases that are latency-sensitive and compute-intensive
  • Performance needs and requirements of the use cases
